The X64 SD is a single dose grinder. There is no large bean hopper: you load only the dose you want to grind and the grinder grinds it with zero retention.
Grind a decaf espresso fine, then a minute later set a medium grind for a pour-over of another coffee. Adjustment is stepless, to the micron, with a grind guide inside the lid.
The grinder is very small and quiet and grinds at least 3 g per second for espresso. Swappable attachments are included: a hopper extension, a bellow for purging and an anti-popcorning lid.

What is a single dose grinder?
A grinder without a large hopper. You weigh the beans for one coffee, load them and the grinder grinds everything. Beans do not sit in a hopper and you can change coffee with every dose.
Is the X64 SD good for espresso?
Yes. Micron adjustment lets you dial in espresso precisely, and the dosing cup with funnel transfers the coffee to the portafilter.
